Sales Terms

1. What a sale is

A sale is a temporary, ZBookShelf-run discount on one or more books — sitewide, limited to a category, tied to one specific book, or applied across everything a specific author has published. ZBookShelf decides when a sale runs, which books it covers, and how large the discount is. A sale never changes a book's own list price — it only ever applies as a temporary discount on top of it, and ending the sale restores the original price immediately.

2. Your choice, and what checking the box means

Whether any of your books can ever be included in a sale is your choice, set on your Account settings page (or at upload) and changeable at any time. If you leave it checked, any book of yours may be included in a sale ZBookShelf runs, at ZBookShelf's discretion — you won't be asked to approve each individual sale. If you uncheck it, none of your books will ever be included in any sale, at any scope, for as long as it stays unchecked.

Opting in means you earn your usual percentage of what a buyer actually pays during a sale, not of the book's full list price — the sale's cost is shared between you and the platform this way, the same principle already applied to promo codes (see the separate Promo Code Terms). A sale can also be combined with a promo code a buyer applies on top of it; in that case, your earnings reflect both discounts together, but only for whichever of the two (sales, promo codes) you've separately agreed to.

3. No guaranteed frequency, duration, or discount size

ZBookShelf makes no commitment about how often a sale runs, how long one lasts, or what percentage it discounts. These are ordinary catalog and marketing decisions, made at ZBookShelf's discretion, and may change at any time without advance notice to you.

4. Changing your mind

Unchecking the box stops any future sale from applying to your books going forward. It has no effect on a sale that already completed — a purchase already made is final, the same as any other completed sale on ZBookShelf.

5. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we'll update the “Last updated” date above. Continuing to keep this setting enabled after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.

6. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and any dispute arising from them is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Egypt, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
